According to an Orange County sheriff's arrest affidavit, the man was having some drinks on Saturday with friends at Gator's Dockside in Hunters Creek when he saw Desuza, whom he has known for about 10 years.

The affidavit stated that the man made a comment to Desuza, saying she hated him because he reminded her of her ex-boyfriend and she became angry.

Desuza then allegedly picked up an empty drinking glass and struck the man on the left side of his forehead, deputies said.

The man started to bleed heavily and was taken to an emergency room, where he received about 30 sutures for two deep lacerations on his face, officials said.

Witnesses were interviewed and surveillance video was reviewed, leading to the arrest of Desuza, who refused to speak to police without an attorney present, officials said.
