Boy seriously hurt in dog attack, Lake County Animal Control says Officials say pit bull sought in attack
SORRENTO, Fla. – A boy was seriously injured after being attacked by a dog in Sorrento on Friday.
Lake County Animal Control said the dog bite was reported on Westmoreland Street in Sorrento.
Two boys were playing in the yard when what appeared to be a brown or brindle-colored pit bull came out of the woods and attacked them, according to a release.
Officers said one boy suffered a serious leg injury and was taken to Arnold Palmer Hospital.
Animal Control officers were unable to find the dog. Officers say they will have extra patrols in the area over the weekend.
