1 hurt in crash involving UCF shuttle bus

ORLANDO, Fla. – One person was hurt in a crash involving a University of Central Florida shuttle bus near campus on Monday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said a vehicle a red light at the intersection of Alafaya Trail and Science Drive and crashed into the bus, which had one passenger on it.  

The driver of the vehicle was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.  The passenger on the bus was checked out on scene and refused transport, according to Orange County Fire Rescue.

Two northbound lanes on Alafaya Trail were closed at Science Drive, but reopened shortly before noon.
