ORMOND BEACH, Fla. – Volusia County deputies have released a new image of a cold-case homicide victim nearly 25 years after her death in an effort to try to identify her.
The woman's skeletal remains were found in 1990 along a path in a wooded area east of Clyde Morris Boulevard near Strickland Range Road.
Deputies said the woman had been killed three to eight weeks before her skeleton was found.
A forensic artist recently created a new reconstruction of the woman's face using technology that wasn't available previously, according to the release.
Investigators hope the new lifelike image may generate new information in the case.
