Casselberry police search for trio after guns stolen from deputy vehicle

Surveillance video shows men checking for unlocked cars, police say

CASSELBERRY, Fla. – Casselberry police are searching for the trio they say stole weapons and tactical equipment out of an Orange County deputy's vehicle.

Police said the burglary was reported Sunday in the Lake Griffin Estates neighborhood.

According to police, items stolen from the deputy's unmarked vehicle were an M4 semiautomatic rifle, H&K UMP sub machine gun, Glock model 21 semi-automatic pistol, Glock model 23, semi-automatic pistol, ASP expandable baton, tactical vests, Kevlar helmet, Motorola radio and a Taser.

Police said they obtained surveillance video from a neighbor that showed three men appearing to walk through the neighborhood checking for unlocked vehicles.

In the video, the same three culprits were seen carrying multiple objects, according to the report.

Police are seeking the trio wanted on charges of larceny and grand theft from a vehicle.
