Man wearing 'Scooby Doo' shirt sought in Apopka bank robbery

Police say man robbed bank while wearing 'Mystery Machine' shirt

APOPKA, Fla. – Apopka police are looking to identify the man they say robbed a bank on Wednesday while wearing a "Scooby Doo" T-shirt.

The robbery was reported at the Fifth Third Bank on Edgewood Drive Wednesday afternoon.

Police said the man implied he had a gun and stole an undisclosed amount of cash, but no weapon was seen.

Police described the suspected robber as a black male in his early 20s, between 5 feet 9 inches and 6 feet tall, 180 pounds and having small dreadlocks and a thin mustache.

A surveillance photo was released of the man, who was wearing a "Mystery Machine" shirt from the Scooby Doo cartoon, reading, "What happens in the van, stays in the van."

The man was also wearing a black baseball hat with the Chicago Bulls logo on the front, black pants and black shoes, police say.
