Girl attacked by police K-9 in Lake County showing signs of PTSD, lawyer says

Wildwood police officer placed on administrative leave

FRUITLAND PARK, Fla. – A lawyer for the family of a Fruitland Park girl who was bitten by a neighbor's police K-9 said she is showing signs of post-traumatic stress disorder, or PTSD.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, Bill Sublette, of Sublette Law Offices, said 7-year-old Julianne Goodridge has several bite and claw marks on her body.

Lake County sheriff's deputies said Goodridge was bitten by Wildwood police Officer Douglas Pelton's 2-year-old Belgian Malinois, Doki, on July  19.

Investigators said Doki bit the girl after he saw her reach over a fence.

Deputies are  investigating the circumstances surrounding the attack.

Pelton has been placed on administrative leave.

The dog is being housed at a boarding facility.
