According to authorities, a woman said she was in her room when she heard a loud thud and found her son, identified by officials as Chesnut, standing over her dog.

Chesnut would not provide details about why he became upset and threw the dog to the floor, saying only that he "all of a sudden got p***** off," authorities said.

Animal control took the dog to a vet, who said the dog suffered a broken leg and possibly tore some ligaments.

Chesnut was taken into custody and booked in the Lake County Jail.
