New video shows woman who lost arm in gator attack in Wekiva River

Ceremony honors investigator who helped save Rollins College professor

SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. – Newly released video shows a Rollins College professor who lost her arm in an alligator attack in the Wekiva River.

Seminole County deputies posted a video, recorded by SGTV, on their Facebook page, showing Rachel Lillenthal at a ceremony that honored an investigator who helped save her.

Investigator Chris Willis was given a special award for his work when Lillenthal was attacked last month.

Lillenthal was bitten by a 9-foot, 350-pound alligator while swimming in the Wekiva River.

The gator that attacked her was caught and killed.
