Arrest made after 2 women found shot to death in Orlando home

Baby was in bed with woman during fatal shootings, police say

ORLANDO, Fla. – An arrest has been made on Thursday in the case of two women, one of whom was asleep in a bed with an infant, who were shot to death inside an Orlando home.

Hubert Gantt Jr., 31, has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder in the death of Alberta Walker, 41, and Felicia Dortch, 35.

Orlando police said that Walker and Dortch were asleep in separate rooms when they were shot and killed inside an apartment at Murchison Terrace on Wilts Circle off Mable Butler Avenue last week.

An infant was in the same bed with one of the victims but was not harmed, police said.  The baby was taken to a hospital as a precaution.

Orlando police tweeted Wednesday that the deaths were "domestic in nature," and a person of interest, who was in a relationship with one of the women, was being questioned.

Orlando firefighters treated at least one distraught person, believed to be a loved one of one of the women, at the scene.
