Video shows woman stealing dirty clothes from doorstep, homeowner says

Man left out clothes to be picked up when theft occurred

ORLANDO, Fla. – A homeowner says security cameras at his home caught a thief stealing dirty clothes from his doorstep.

When Todd O'Neal left his home in the East Lake subdivision Monday morning, he left behind a bag of shirts and pants to be picked up by a local dry cleaning service.

O'Neal said the clothes were picked up, but by someone looking to expand their wardrobe.

"I was pretty shocked," said O'Neal. "I'm like, is this real? Is she just really doing this in the middle of the day?"

O'Neal said he got an alert from his home security system on Monday. When he reviewed the video, it showed a woman walking up to his doorstep and walking away with the bag of laundry in hand.

Neighbors told News 6 they've never seen the woman before and are now keeping a close eye on their own belongings.

"I was ashamed," said Elena Romanova, who lives nearby. "It's ridiculous. Stealing people's stuff in the middle of the day."

Since the bag of clothes went missing, O'Neal has been using social media to spread the word about a thief in his neighborhood. He says he plans to next file a police report with Orlando Police in hopes of catching the woman in the video.

"Somebody has to (and) should eventually identify her to get this person caught," said O'Neal.
