Senate candidate from Florida says he sacrificed goat

Augustus Sol Invictus says he carried out sacrifice after Mojave Desert trip

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Controversy has surrounded a U.S. Senate candidate from Florida.

The candidate for the Libertarian Party admits to sacrificing a goat and drinking its blood.

Augustus Sol Invictus said he carried out the sacrifice after returning home from a trip to the Mojave Desert.

Invictus, a lawyer who has changed his legal name, says he did it as a part of a Pagan ritual after a week of fasting and praying.

Libertarian Party of Florida Chairman Adrian Wylie has resigned in an effort to call attention to Invictus' candidacy.

Wylie said Invictus doesn't represent the party's beliefs.
