Man shot in parking lot of Clermont McDonald's identified

CLERMONT, Fla. – The man who was shot at a Clermont McDonald's parking lot early Saturday morning has been identified.

The Lake County Sheriff's Office said that the shooting took place at the McDonald's at 16832 Corner Center Drive in Clermont around 2:40 a.m. Saturday.

A witness said Michael Branden Blaum, 19, was standing outside their car when a dark colored sedan pulled up. A conversation took place and one of the suspects pulled out a gun and shot Blaum, then left the area.

Police said Blaum was airlifted to Orlando Regional Medical Center in stable condition.

The investigation is ongoing. Detectives are waiting on surveillance video and speaking with additional witnesses.
