Is today the most depressing day of the year?

'Blue Monday' distinction not scientific

Monday is officially "Blue Monday," a day some say is the most depressing of the year.

According to the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, the holiday was created by a British travel company.

The formula takes into account things like weather, debt levels and failed New Year's resolutions.

"Blue Monday" always falls on the third Monday in January.

Many researchers have spoken out against the label, saying it is a self-fulfilling prophecy and that it has no actual scientific basis.
