VERO BEACH, Fla. – An Indian River County man was captured and arrested after his grandparents were found violently beaten.
The Indian River County Sheriff's Office said that they responded to a call around 2:45 a.m. Sunday to a home at 7000 20th St. in Vero Beach.
Deputies said they discovered an elderly couple who had been attacked by their grandson, Scott Horn, 36, of Vero Beach. Horn attempted to strangle both and beat them with his fists, deputies said.
The woman sustained six broken ribs and a broken sternum, doctors were still working on the man to determine the extent of his injuries, according to authorities.
Deputies said Horn fled the residence on foot. He has been homeless in the recent past.
No details were given on his capture. Horn is schedule to face a judge Monday.
