The restaurant owned by NBA star and Daytona Beach native Vince Carter will be closing on Sunday.

The Daytona Beach News-Journal reports that Carter's restaurant, which he owned with his mother, Michelle Carter-Scott will close after six years, but there are no plans to sell the restaurant.

About 70 workers at the restaurant were told on Thursday that Sunday would be their last day of employment, News 6 was told.

The restaurant is located on LPGA Boulevard near Interstate 95.

Carter's mother told the News-Journal it is possible that a new restaurant could open on the site that includes her and possibly her son as partners.

It's not clear why the restaurant is closing.
