Ted Cruz holds town hall in Orlando

Cruz holds event before Florida primary

ORLANDO, Fla. – Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz held a town hall event Friday in Orlando as the Florida primary draws near.

The town hall was held at Faith Assembly of God Church at 9307 Curry Ford Road.

About 1,000 Cruz supporters packed the church and showed enthusiasm, even though Cruz is currently polling in third place in Florida.

Marco Rubio's campaign released a statement to the media at Cruz's event, saying a vote for Cruz is a vote for Trump, who's the front-runner in the GOP presidential race.

Florida's presidential primary is Tuesday.

The town hall comes on the heels of a couple endorsements for Cruz.

Carly Fiorina, who attended Friday's event and is rumored as a possible running mate with Cruz, endorsed Cruz at a rally held Wednesday in Miami. Sen. Mike Lee of Utah endorsed Cruz Thursday.
