Man searches for missing pet parrot, offers reward

Parrot stolen during Bike Week

SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. – A Seminole County man isn't leaving Daytona Beach until he finds his beloved bird.

"I'm a single guy, never been married and have no kids. That was my girl," said Mike Mularz.

Mularz said it happened Saturday morning during Bike Week. Mularz left Spyke the parrot on his bike which he said was routine, and listened to music while he checked on her periodically.

"We watched another band for a half an hour, I came back out at 11:30 and she was gone," he said.

Mularz filed a police report and has saturated the town with fliers, thinking someone nearby knows what happened.

"We're talking to all the locals, the people that live on the streets, anybody that is down here and knows people on the streets," he said.

Mularz said Spyke isn't just a parrot but plays a role in his motorcycle magazine and even made a debut on a Bike Week shirt.

"The community loves her," he said.

Mularz is offering a reward, hoping someone will bring her back home.

"It's my baby. I just want her back," he said.

Mularz said Spyke has an ID bracelet on her leg that's stamped with PF407. The bird is also microchipped.
