Daytona Beach officer fired after testing positive for cocaine, officials say

Bobbie Jo Solomon worked at agency for 19 years

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – A Daytona Beach police officer was relieved of duty after investigators said she tested positive for cocaine.

According to the News-Journal, Officer Bobbie Jo Solomon was fired earlier this week.

Solomon had been with the department for nearly 19 years.

Solomon is not the first Daytona Beach police officer to be fired this month.

Joseph Sellix was terminated following an investigation into comments he made to two Daytona State College students. Sellix was a sergeant and eight-year veteran of the force.

No other details have been released.
