Bill named after former UCF student who died in crash off SR 408
Getting Results: Chloe's Law
ORLANDO, Fla. – Gov. Rick Scott has signed "Chloe's Law," which was named after a former University of Central Florida student who was killed in a crash in 2015.
Chloe's Law requires the Florida Department of Transportation to increase barriers along bodies of water on state roads where deaths have occurred, according to new FDOT guidelines.
Arenas' mother went to state lawmakers hoping for changes along roads statewide.
"I would like to thank all of our UCF students including Clarissa Lindsey and Student Government Legislative Affairs Coordinator Tyler Yeargain, for their passionate advocacy leading to the passage of Chloe's Law," said Sen. Darren Soto in a release.
