Sen. Marco Rubio discusses heroin epidemic in Orange County

Rubio meets with Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs

Florida U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio is in Central Florida Monday meeting with Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs to discuss the heroin epidemic.

The visit comes two months after Jacobs called on the federal government to help Orange County combat the use of drugs.

According to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, in 2014 there were 90 heroin-related deaths in the county, which is an increase of 84 percent from the previous year.

News 6 has a crew there getting answers from Rubio.
