Employee allegedly dumps loads of dirt on boss after argument

Employee dumps dirt on boss

DEBARY, Fla. – A man was arrested after dumping loads of dirt on his boss Wednesday morning.

Erick Cox claims his boss started a verbal disagreement when he arrived at the construction site. The two went back and forth arguing until Cox took it a step further.

A Volusia County Sheriff's Office police report stated that Cox was in the loader when his boss approached and verbally insulted him. Cox said he continued to move the dirt to where it was needed, which happened to be where his boss was standing.

Cox then claimed his boss came toward him, but he moved out of the way by exiting the loader.

The report states that Cox went back to the loader to turn it off and accidentally hit the control lever, dumping a load of dirt on his boss's right leg.

A witness said that Cox continued to dump several loads on his boss, covering almost his entire lower body.

Based off of the evidence that authorities collected from the scene, deputies found probable cause and arrested Cox, later transporting him to the Volusia County Branch Jail.

His boss was taken to the emergency room and was found to have suffered a large laceration to his scalp, a fracture to his skull and bleeding on his brain. The most recent report stated that his brain bleeding was in stable condition.
