Local 'Ribbon Maker' continues to keep Pulse victims' memory alive

Ben Johansen created 45,000 ribbons

ORLANDO, Fla. – A local man is using his talents to create thousands of rainbow ribbons that people have pinned on their lapels to honor the 49 victims of the Pulse nightclub shooting on June 12.

Ben Johansen, also known as the "Ribbon Maker,"  has created 45,000 ribbons and has an order of 5,000 more for the 2016 Gay Softball World Series in Austin, Texas.

Johansen told News 6 that he has shipped ribbons to seven countries and even some celebrities, including Sean Hayes, Chris Rivera and Jamie Lee Curtis.

He has no plans to stop and hopes to keep going as long as possible.

Johansen is in need of five-eighths-inch rainbow ribbon, three-eighths-inch or quarter-inch black ribbon and pins.
