TEQUESTA, Fla. – After a horrific attack in Florida, the family of the suspect is offering its condolences.
Detectives say they caught 19-year-old Florida State student Austin Harrouff biting the face of a man after killing him and his wife outside their outside their home.

Wade and Mina Harrouff issued a statement Friday, through a lawyer, expressing what they said was "their deepest sympathy for the pain and suffering caused by Austin."
They said they love their son "and know he is not the person some are making him out to be."
The Martin County sheriff announced Friday that Austin Harrouff will be charged with first-degree murder for Monday's slayings of 59-year-old John Stevens and his 53-year-old wife, Michelle Mischcon. That means he faces the death penalty or life without parole if convicted.
Harrouff also faces attempted murder charges for stabbing a neighbor who tried to help the couple.
Tests for drugs such as flakka and bath salts are pending, officials said.
Meanwhile, the son of the man who was slain said he hopes Harrouff gets the death penalty.
