The Sheriff's Office said video surveillance from one of the businesses showed a man inside rummaging through a cash drawer and behind a desk. Detectives identified the man as Robert Winters, 18.
Detectives found Winters late Friday evening at a residence in Summerfield, deputies said. Winters was taken into custody without incident.
After a follow-up interview, detectives charged Winters with all 10 commercial burglaries, as well as two additional burglaries he acknowledged committing, deputies said.
Winters told detectives he committed the burglaries, looking for money or items to sell or trade, because of his drug problem, the Sheriff's Office said. Winters allegedly told detectives that while committing the crimes he would take breaks to use drugs.
Winters was held at the Marion County Jail on 21 charges, including commercial burglary, burglary of a structure, burglary of a residence, grand theft and petit theft, deputies said. Winters was held on $78,500 bail.
Anyone with information about the burglaries is asked to call Detective Burleson at 352-732-9111.
