Orange County deputies search wooded area in case of missing woman

Family members have not had contact with Tia Bonta since July 31

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – The Orange County Sheriff's Office said searched a wooded area on Thursday for evidence in the case of a missing woman.

Tia Bonta was last seen at the Days Inn at Colonial Drive and Alafaya Trail on July 31 with  James Dellofield, who was named as a person of interest in her disappearance.

Deputies said they were searching the area near Hancock Lone Palm Road and East Colonial Drive in Bonta's case. 

"Our detectives have been working diligently in an effort to locate Ms. Bonta," deputies said in a release.

Details on the search were not released. The search was wrapped up just after 1 p.m. 

The missing persons report for Bonta on Aug. 5 was filed after her father Kevin Bonta told deputies that he had not had contact with his daughter since July 31.

Bonta told police that, “it is not normal for Tia not to contact someone for this long.”

Tia was last seen wearing an unknown color tank top, black pants and white shoes, deputies said.
