Osceola man accused of breaking into police cruiser, stealing gun

Suspect caught on camera stealing from St. Cloud police cruiser

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. – A 20-year-old man is accused of breaking into a police car and stealing the officer's gun.

It happened Sunday night outside St. Cloud Middle School. Police said Shawn Wall was spotted on surveillance video climbing over a fence and making his way towards a St. Cloud police cruiser, which was sitting there for added security.

Once he got to the car, police said Wall smashed out a window and grabbed the officer's handgun hidden inside. He also tried to take an AR15, but couldn't successfully remove it.

Police said Wall fired the handgun at least once while walking away from the school.

During the investigation, police found a shell casing at the scene and other evidence linking Wall to the crime.

Police also said Wall had just been released from prison for burglary, and is believed to be connected to other burglaries in the area.

Wall had his first appearance on a Tuesday and is now facing nine charges. He's locked up at the Osceola County Jail.
