Memorial service held for Arnold Palmer

Golf legend Arnold Palmer dies

Hundreds of people are honoring golf legend Arnold Palmer at a memorial ceremony Tuesday in Pennsylvania.

Palmer, known as "the King" for his transformative legacy in golf, died last week at the age of 87.

The service is being held at Saint Vincent's College in Latrobe, Pennsylvania.

Palmer's family and close friends are filling the St. Vincent Basilica, but management firm IMG has made thousands of public seats available at a nearby stadium, where a Jumbotron has been positioned for fans.

Palmer died at a Pittsburgh hospital while awaiting cardiac surgery, according to a statement from his company.
