Global gender gap is largest since 2008

The economic participation and opportunity gender gap has widened, a new CBS News report shows. 

The Global Gender Gap Report from the World Economics Forum suggests that the gap is the largest since 2008. 

According to WEF projections, the gap won't close until 2186, 170 years from now. 

Equality among economic opportunity has decreased over the years, with the gap now at 59 percent. Women around the world are making only half the salary that men are, yet they are working more hours. There are also very few women in senior corporate positions

However, political empowerment has increased and is at its highest level since 10 years ago. 

The Global Gender Gap Report shows Iceland and Finland as the top countries for gender equality. The U.S is ranked at number 45.
