Scene cleared after suspicious package found at polling location in Winter Park, police say

Police receive call about suspicious package

The scene has been cleared at a Winter Park polling location after a suspicious package report was called  in to police.

The Winter Park Police Department said it received a call at 5:30 p.m.

Police found a backpack under a voting booth and the bomb squad was called, officials said.

The owner of the backpack claimed the bag before the bomb squad arrived.

The polling location is at 760 N. Lakemont Ave.

The polls in Florida are set to close at 7 p.m.
