Florida woman impaled by mystery arrow while gardening

Police try to find out who fired arrow

DAVIE, Fla. – A South Florida woman was shot by an arrow while she was gardening over the weekend.

The 66-year-old Davie woman is struggling to understand what happened to her Saturday afternoon,

"I was outside in my yard gardening. I stood up for a second. I heard a loud pop. I felt a searing pain go through my leg," she said.

The woman said that when she looked down, an 18-inch arrow was piercing her upper thigh.

The woman was taken to the hospital and is expected to be OK.

Police said they don't know where the arrow came from.
