Central Florida post offices to extend hours for holiday season

ORLANDO, Fla. – Santa isn't the only one making deliveries this holiday season. 

The U.S. Postal Service expects to deliver 16 billion cards, letters, flats and packages during the 2016 holiday season. To accommodate the influx of customers, 25 post offices across Central Florida will extend their holiday hours leading up to Christmas Day.

All 25 of the locations will be open later on Saturday and Dec. 17 and some will be open on Sunday as well. 

There will also be five 24/7 self-service kiosks at five locations in Orlando:

Alafaya Post Office, 650 N. Alafaya Trail
College Park Post Office, 1705 Edgewater Drive
Dixie Village Post Office, 2860 Delaney Ave.
Main Post Office, 10401 Post Office Blvd.
Orlo Vista Post Office, 501 S. Kirkman Road
Pine Castle Post Office, 7707 S. Orange Ave.
Sand Lake Post Office, 10450 S. Turkey Lake Road
South Creek Post Office, 1701 W. Wetherbee Road

USPS recommends that anyone mailing or shipping in upcoming weeks follow certain deadlines to make sure their packages arrives by Christmas Day.

Dec. 9 – APO/FPO/DPO priority mail and first-class mail
Dec. 15 – USPS retail ground
Dec. 20 – First-class mail
Dec. 21 – Priority mail
Dec. 23 – Priority mail express
