Fans camp out in rain for new Chick-fil-A in DeLand

First 100 customers receive gift card for free meals for a year

DeLAND, Fla. – Dozens of fast food lovers in Volusia County spent hours camping outside DeLand's new Chick-fil-A, all in hopes of scoring some free food.

The Chick-fil-A on Woodland Boulevard opened early Wednesday morning, but customers started lining up 27 hours before the restaurant opened. Many waited in the rain as showers fell across the Orlando area early Wednesday.

The first 100 people inside the store got a gift card for free meals for a year.
