ORLANDO, Fla. – Could you soon be traveling to some Disney parks by gondola?
News 6 confirmed Wednesday that Disney's governmental arm, the Reedy Creek Improvement District, submitted plans to South Florida Water Management last week that included sketches of some unusually shaped buildings.
Engineers said the designs resemble what could be needed to add an enclosed gondola transportation system.
Members of the fan site wdwmagic.com first spotted the plans and used them to show how that kind of system might link Epcot, Hollywood Studios and some nearby hotels.
Disney hasn’t commented, but the resort has spent millions of dollars in improving transportation the past few years.
