Friends, family raise over $2,000 for little girl needing heart transplant ​

Scarlett, 1, is in the hospital awaiting call for transplant

ORLANDO, Fla. – A family held a fundraiser for a 1-year-old girl who needs a heart transplant.

Scarlett Jaycocks, 1, was born with a congenital heart defect and had three heart surgeries and an additional brain surgery.

A fundraiser was hosted in her honor at the Colonial Lanes in Orlando on Feb. 25, and the family raised over $2,000. She is in the hospital in St. Petersburg at Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital, awaiting the call that she has a new heart.

"I can't even begin to tell you how thankful I am for all your help and Channel 6," her grandmother told News 6 reporter Amanda Castro.
