BROOKSVILLE, Fla. – Law enforcement officials seized 197 pounds of marijuana from a plane that landed in a Central Florida airport from California, according to a news release.

When the plane landed at Brooksville-Tampa Bay Regional Airport in Hernando County Monday night, deputies stopped the two men on board.

A search warrant was issued, and officials were able to seize the marijuana, which was packaged in duffel bags, as well as the plane and a Ford F150 pick-up truck, officials said.

Arrest warrants have been issued for the pilot, Joshua Overton, 32, of St. Petersburg, and the passenger, Aaron Andrus of Chico, California.

The Lake and Hernando County sheriff's offices, the U.S. Customs and Border Patrol, the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations, and the Federal Aviation Administration worked together to intercept the drugs.

“This is a great example of inter-agency cooperation and we couldn't be more proud of all the hard work that went into this operation,” Lake County Sheriff Peyton Grinnell said.
