New photos released in case of woman whose body was found dismembered at Lake Underhill

Olivia Diggs' body found in August 2016

ORLANDO, Fla. – New evidence has been released in the case of a 32-year-old woman whose body was found dismembered in Lake Underhill.

The body of Olivia Renee Diggs was found last August by Florida Fish and Wildlife officials at Lake Underhill and Palmer Street. Officials said Diggs' body was put in the water sometime in the evening or early morning before other parts of her body were discovered.

Newly released evidence photos show that Diggs was wearing white shoes that were thrown onto the rocks.

The photos also show a collection of knives that authorities say belonged to Rafael Gonzalez, who is accused of killing Diggs.

Diggs and Gonzalez were once in a relationship, but she broke up with Gonzalez in February 2015, according to a police report obtained by News 6.

After the pair broke up, Diggs told Orlando police that Gonzalez showed up unannounced at her two jobs at Universal Studios and Family Dollar.

Diggs told police that Gonzalez threatened to hit her if he saw her with another man.

"I fear for my life for the many reasons that I have told Rafael many times to leave me alone," she said, according to a police report.

Gonzalez was charged with stalking, the report said.

The evidence photos show that Gonzalez attempted to cover up the crime with new floorboards and bedding, police said. The photos, along with more explicit ones, are expected to be used in Gonzalez's murder trial in May.

Gonzalez confessed to a fellow inmate that he murdered and dismembered Diggs' body with a machete and a handsaw.

Gonzalez is facing a number of charges, including first-degree murder. He is being held in the Orange County Jail until his trial.
