Bus crash in Polk County leaves students injured

Bus was from Citrus Ridge academy

DAVENPORT, Fla. – Some students received minor injuries when a school bus was involved in a crash Thursday afternoon in Davenport, Polk County officials said.

The crash happened at 3:30 p.m. at Regan Parkway and Champions Gate Boulevard. Polk County Fire Rescue took 15 people to a hospital, including 12  people who were on the school bus. Officials described their injuries as minor.

The bus was transporting 70 students from Citrus Ridge: A Civics Academy, officials said.

It's unclear how many vehicles were involved in the crash.
