Teen CEO takes on home staging market

'He brings properties to life,' homeowner says

ORLANDO, Fla. – Brenda Feliciani, of Southern Sisters Renovation, recently gutted an 880-square-foot home in Orlando as her first renovation project.

Once the floors were down and the fresh paint dried, the veteran real estate agent handed the home staging
job to a 17-year-old high school student.

“I didn’t know he was CEO and owner, she told News 6. “My partners were a little skeptical, but he sold me.”

Joe Sipp has a knack for selling his home design and color pallet to a lot of Central Florida homeowners, something he said just comes to him “when he walks in.”

“It’s kind of like a welcome home,” Sipp told News 6. “This is your house. You need to be here.”

His company, Systematic Home Staging, has used that philosophy to slowly build a resume of projects in a market that only has a hand full of home staging companies.

"We’ve done over 27 houses since January, Sipp said, "Our (average) sales rate is 21 days, and each home has sold over asking price."

Sipp’s approach has been known to deliver sales for homes that have been stuck on the market, too.

Recently, a local high-end home that sat on the market for six months, went from no offers to multiple offers just days after the teen CEO delivered his personal touch.

"We staged the family room, dining room, master bedroom, kitchen, the basic package we offer." he said. "It sold for $75,000 over asking price."

While he may be starting his senior year at Bishop Moore High School this fall, Sipp is already building plans for a real estate investment mega company that will include real estate sales, investment and, of course, home staging.

“You can’t sell a house without home staging, Sipp said. “Staging needs to be in every single house. We want each room to have a designated feel when we walk in.”

The teen entrepreneur is one of the country’s youngest professional stagers and is quick to point out his company is licensed, insured and bonded.

“I’m an accredited staging professional, Sipp said. "We know what we’re doing.”

That confidence is backed by a string of successes, including Feliciani’s first home flip.

“He walked through the house saying things that I wanted to hear, Feliciani said. "He saw the vintage charm of the house. It sold in 21 days.”
