Body found on shore of Volusia County beach, officials say

Identity, cause of death unknown

DAYTONA BEACH SHORES, Fla. – A man's body was found in the tide line of a beach in Daytona Beach Shores Wednesday morning, an official from Volusia County Beach Safety Ocean Rescue said.

A woman walking on the beach found the body in the 2000 block of the beach shortly before 7 a.m. Based on the condition of the body, officials believe the man was in the ocean for a day or two before washing ashore.

The man's identity and cause of death have not been determined.

The Volusia County Sheriff's Office is investigating.
