VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – A man who initially eluded authorities is in custody after he shot inside his ex-girlfriend's home and punched her in the face, according to the Volusia County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies said around 7 a.m. Thursday that they were looking for Jonathan Craig Rollason-Elliott, 26, in connection with the incident then announced at 10 a.m. that he had been arrested.

Rollason-Elliott, who goes by "Long Jon," broke into his ex-girlfriend's home on Pecan Street in DeLand around 12 a.m. Thursday, a news release said.
Deputies said Rollason-Elliott kicked in the door and started arguing with the victim and pointed a handgun at her as he screamed and questioned her.
He fired one round in the ceiling, punched the woman and then left, according to authorities.
Around 9:35 a.m., a deputy in the area noticed the victim's front door was open, a news release said.
Authorities went inside the home and found that vulgar things had been spray painted on the walls and the curtains had been cut up. Rollason-Elliott was arrested after deputies said they found him hiding in the attic.
He had a .25-caliber Beretta handgun, a baggie of suspected methamphetamine and a smoking device, the report said.
He was arrested on charges of armed burglary, possession of methamphetamine, criminal mischief, two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, armed burglary, aggravated assault with a firearm and domestic battery.
