ORLANDO, Fla. – Police body camera footage shows the race to save a teenager's life minutes after she was shot in the face.
Orlando police said they responded to the Willow Keys Apartments in June, where they found a 16-year-old girl suffering from at least three gunshot wounds.
In the body camera footage obtained by News 6, neighbors are heard telling police the girl was shot by her ex-boyfriend.
"I can’t feel anything," the victim is heard telling the officer.
"Where did he start shooting?" the officer is heard asking.
"I got shot, and I fell to the ground," she said.
She told the officer that Kwantedious Ross, 19, shot her and then started firing at her new boyfriend across the parking lot.
Newly obtained crime scene photos show stray bullets on the ground and some cars that were hit by the gunfire.
The Orlando Police Department recently released evidence photos from a June shooting that left a 16-year-old girl injured.
"He came back and shot me again," the girl is heard telling police. "I think he was trying to shoot me in the head and kill me. I moved, and he missed me."
The footage shows police searching the apartment complex for Ross.
Fearing he might be holed up inside the girl's apartment, officers can be seen busting through the front door. They don't find anyone inside.
Investigators said the girl was rushed to the hospital, and Ross was apprehended after an 11-day manhunt.
He's being held on more than $850,300 bail at the Orange County Jail.
According to court records, Ross had a hearing Wednesday, when prosecutors filed a motion to allow a therapy dog to accompany the victim during testimony if Ross is present.
A trial date has not been set.
