Arrest made in slaying of mother of three in Daytona Beach Shores

Olympia Cerruti, 34, found stabbed on Sept. 22 at Hawaiian Inn in Volusia County

DAYTONA BEACH SHORES, Fla.

Daytona Beach Shores Police have arrested a man in the murder of a mother of three at a Volusia County inn on Sept. 22.

Police said Olympia Cerruit, 34, was found stabbed to death in a room at the Hawaiian Inn in Daytona Beach Shores.

Darron Woodberry, 25, was stopped by an officer on Sept. 22 for speeding from the area near the Hawaiian Inn.

Officer who stopped Woodberry was then called to the hotel to begin resuscitative efforts to save Cerruti.

Surveillance video from the inn and body-worn camera led police to arrest Woodbury on Thursday.

"This was just a matter of a young officer out here in the middle of the night doing good police work, which led us to the suspect," Director Stephan L. Dembinsky said.

Woodberry was arrested on a second-degree murder charge and is being held on $250,000 bond.
