17-year-old pedestrian run over, killed, troopers say Crash remains under investigation, charges pending No description found
ORLANDO, Fla. – A 17-year-old boy was killed Saturday after troopers said he was run over by a car in Orlando.
Troopers said Lewis Helmick, 17, was lying in the southbound lanes of Story Partin Road near Colonial Drive at 11:30 p.m. when a Chevy van drove over him, according to the crash report.
Lewis was taken to Florida Hospital East, where he was pronounced dead.
Troopers said they are investigating what happened after the collision and who was driving the van.
Charges are pending, officials with the Florida Highway Patrol said.
