Wig-wearing gunman robs New Smyrna Beach Denny's, police say

NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. – Customers at a Denny's restaurant said a wig-wearing gunman hardly made a sound when he stole cash from the register Tuesday afternoon.

Just before 1 p.m., police said the man ordered seasoned fries then pulled out a gun and demanded "all the money."

Investigators said the man fled in a silver 2018 Toyota Camry with a temporary Florida license plate.

Air One tried searching for the robber, who is described as a black man last seen wearing a curly wig, a light-colored shirt and tan pants. The man and the vehicle have not been located. No one was hurt.

Police said Wednesday that the incident could be connected to other armed robberies in Central Florida.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the New Smyrna Beach Police Department at 386-424-2251 or Crime Stoppers at 888-277-TIPS (8477).
