Orlando-bound Southwest flight struck by lightning

Plane lands safely in Connecticut

ORLANDO, Fla. – A Southwest flight en route to Orlando experienced a lightning strike Tuesday night but landed safely in Connecticut.

Lightning struck after departure, as Flight 2515 left Manchester-Boston Regional Airport.

The plane was diverted and made the landing at Bradley International Airport, officials said.

The aircraft is now out of service for a maintenance review, and the 135 passengers and five crew members will be accommodated on another plane.

The flight is running about four hours behind schedule, officials said.
