Thanksgiving is over, and people are getting ready to rush out and buy their Christmas tree. 

However, you might want to resist the urge to hurry up and purchase a live Christmas tree on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.

That's when Christmas tree prices tend to be the most expensive, according to a new report from the National Christmas Tree Association (NCTA) and Square.  

After analyzing Square sales from Christmas tree farmers and sellers, the report shows Christmas tree sales kick into high gear on Black Friday with an average price of $77 and rise even higher to $81 on Cyber Monday. 

If you want a deal on a tree, try waiting until the week before Christmas and you could save about 22%. 

You will find the lowest price on Christmas Eve with an average price of $47. 

The seasonal average for a tree is $73. If you find that too expensive, you can invest in a fake tree for a one-time cost.
