Casey Anthony's father injured in rollover crash on I-4, troopers say

George Anthony taken to Halifax Medical Center for treatment

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – Casey Anthony's father was injured in a single-vehicle, rollover crash on westbound Interstate 4 in Volusia County on Saturday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said George Anthony was driving a 1999 Toyota 4Runner around 3 p.m. when he traveled onto the right shoulder near mile marker 122 for an unknown reason, then lost control while swerving left back onto the roadway.

The Toyota overturned several times, traveled through the right, center and left lanes before coming to a final rest in the median, according to the report.

Troopers said George Anthony did not remember what happened prior to the crash. He was taken via helicopter to Halifax Medical Center to be treated for incapacitating injuries.

Alcohol is not suspected to be a factor in the crash and he was wearing his seat belt.

Casey Anthony was acquitted in 2011 in connection with the death of her 2-year-old daughter.
