American killed in shark attack in Bahamas

ROSE ISLAND, Bahamas – An American tourist was killed Wednesday in a shark attack in The Bahamas.

The Royal Bahamas Police Force announced the woman was attacked shortly after 2 p.m. near Rose Island.

After being taken to shore, the woman was taken to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Police said the investigation into the fatal attack is ongoing.

Rose Island is a small piece of land just northeast of Nassau.
