1 dead after shooting in Osceola County, authorities say

Osceola County Sheriff’s deputies responded to 1311 Santa Rosa Drive after reports of a shooting.

The shooting happened around 7 p.m. Friday, authorities said.

When deputies arrived, they found Harold Jones III, 31, in front of the building with a gunshot wound.

Jones was taken to a hospital and was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.

Detectives believe this is an isolated incident and that say there is no further threat to the public.

According to officials, this is an active investigation and no additional information is available at this time.

The suspect is described as a black male weighing 200 lbs, 5-feet, 8 inches to 5-feet, 10 inches with short black hair and no facial hair. The man was last seen wearing a black bandana, shorts, a black T-shirt and slip-on shoes.

According to officials, the man was armed with a silver and black handgun and fled the scene in a black 4-door sedan with tinted windows and rims.

Information leading to a felony arrest may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
